Industrial Engineer
Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent client in Dalton, GA within the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a Industrial Engineer to join their team!
Industrial Engineer Summary:
- Pay: $65,000 - $75,000
- Direct Hire
- 1st Shift, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- The Industrial Engineer provides ongoing support to production by applying statistical methods, mathematical calculations, and engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes. They are responsible for creating and maintaining Value Stream maps, developing production line standards, and maintaining plant layouts. The Industrial Engineer collaborates with various departments to implement improvements, analyze capacity plans, and ensure efficient logistics and material flow.
- Apply statistical methods and mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and production standards.
- Create and maintain Value Stream maps for new products.
- Develop production line standards such as Yamazumi, Standard Work, and Work Combinations.
- Maintain plant layouts for process changes, equipment movement, and inventory management.
- Analyze and report capacity plans for various processes.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to develop packaging standards and optimize internal logistics flow.
- Conduct time studies and audits to improve efficiency and implement Kaizen projects.
- Generate reports on project status and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Draft equipment layouts to maximize efficiency and workspace utilization.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems.
- Study operations sequence, material flow, and organizational charts to optimize worker functions and responsibilities.
- Efficiency improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Accuracy of capacity plans and production standards.
- Timeliness and effectiveness of continuous improvement projects.
Industrial Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline with three plus years’ experience, or Associates Degree with five plus years’ experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Proficiency in integrated computer programs and applications.
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
- 50% office environment, 50% plant floor (PPE required).
- Fast-paced automotive environment with occasional exposure to fumes, extreme heat, and moderate noise levels.
- Must be willing to work long hours as needed and travel domestically/internationally if required.
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Catia, UG).
- Knowledge of Visio.
